This song is my take on Morrissey meets the Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock mixed in with Don Giovanni, and the fact that I didn't get laid during my study abroad year. I think it's actually a decent lyric, although a bit pretentious.

Cliff side top side
It doesn't mean nothing at all.
I have nothing to say
cause I could never find the right words.

And as years go by
I know I'm not in demand.
I know when I grow old
my trousers will be rolled.

but just once, just once
I'd like to punch you in the face.
just once, just once
I'd like to make the great escape
passed heroes who try to hold me down.

Let's invite the statue for dinner
Though I've never been a great winner
I'd like to be Don Juan for a day
Just once, just once
I'd like to be Don Juan for a day.

I sat and cowered
when the queen passed by in her carriage
but I also couldn't move
when a harlot passed by now what does that prove?

Conquests and Battles
I've hardly fought one at all.
Call me a coward
and I've got nothing to say.

But just once, just once
I'd like to say I'm Lazarus.
Just once, just once
I'd like to play the perfect play
and be seen as so much more then man.

He had 1004 in Espaņa
and I've not had one in Britannia.
I want to be Don Juan for a day.
just once, just once
I want to be Don Juan for a day.

Through the streets I scurry
though I'm not in a great hurry
into the smoky room
where I can watch them walking past.

I don't look up
I stare straight into the labyrinth
where I dare not go
there's danger in her eyes.

But just once, just once
I'd like to touch the windowpane.
just once, just once
I'd like to hear her call my name
in a voice that's wicked and divine.

But G-d I'm such a boring fellow
because I'm always talking of Donatello.
I'd like to be Don Juan for a day.
Just once, Just once
I'd like to be Don Juan for a day.
Just for one day.
One day.
